Our Board of Directors define the mission and participate periodically in strategic planning to review purposes, programs, priorities, funding needs, and targets of achievement for the Total Life Care of Hastings center. Our Board of Directors knows and supports the TLC mission and vision.

Jerome Bambenek - Treasurer
Jerry and his wife Mary Ann have two grown children, Father Joseph and Catherine Santini. Jerry is the Organization Treasurer and is involved in a number of other organizations including Financial Secretary for the Knights of Columbus Hastings Council, Finance Council Member at his church, SEAS and Membership Secretary for the Minnesota International Harvester Collectors Club. He retired from a career in Agricultural Business Accounting. He feels blessed to be part of the TLC Board.
Ali Fairbanks - Board Member/Secretary
Ali is a graduate of the University of River Falls-Wisconsin with a degree in International Studies. She has lived in Hastings her whole life and is an active member of Christ's Family Church in Hastings. Ali was married in June of 2014 to Derek Fairbanks who she met at Christ's Family Church. Ali enjoys helping others in her community, baking, and spending time with friends and family. She is so excited to be on the board of TLC of Hastings
Joe Caturia - Board Member/Vice President
Joe and his wife Kay are life long residents of Hastings, except for 4 years in Alaska. We have 3 children, William, Hannah and Jack. After attending a couple of TLC Galas and supporting TLC financially, I felt that there was more that I could do. As a board member I see more of what the center does for the community and young women in need of love and support and feel blessed to be apart of it. I am passionate about the sanctity of life and I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve on the board.
Daniel Millard - Board Member/President
Daniel and his wife Rebecca are relatively new residents of Hastings, having moved to the community in March of 2015. He is an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, and joined the TLC Board of Directors to find a more direct means to involve himself in impactful, local, life-affirming ministry. Outside of TLC, Daniel is an IT Project Manager for Ecolab, and pursues hobbies in music criticism, orthodox Catholic apologetics, and creative writing. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music History & Theory, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a Human Resource Management emphasis.
Robyn Smith - Board Member
Robyn and her husband Brad have lived in Hastings for the past 11 years with their 2 children, Mason and Marit. She is a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and works full time for a local printing company in the industrial park. She is very active with the Hastings Show Choir program at Hastings High School and serves on the committee for Swingn’ on the River. In her free time she enjoys, cooking, reading, spending time with her family and walks along the river. She has personal experience with being a young woman faced with an unplanned pregnancy and she feels blessed to serve on the TLC board of directors.
Kristi Bauer - Board Member
Kristi is a new TLC board member just joining in March of this year. Kristi and her husband Adam moved to Hastings last fall after living in Bloomington, MN for 4 years. They are a family "in-waiting" as they await God's match in adopting their first child. Kristi serves as the Director of Christian Education at Hope Lutheran Church in Hastings, MN working children, youth and families. As part of her job and calling Kristi enjoys walking alongside youth and their parents to encourage and integrate faith into home life and families. In her free time Kristi enjoys playing piano, baking, and crafting pinterest creations.
Tracy Steiner - Board Member
Tracy and her husband John have lived in Hastings since 1995 and raised their three grown children here. Tracy has a degree in dental hygiene from Marquette University. She works occasionally as a substitute teacher at SEAS school and spends her time working out at the Y, volunteering at SEAS church, Meals on Wheels and other organizations. She also enjoys spending time at the cabin, traveling, reading and watching sports. She's excited about being on the HTLC board because she is an advocate of the unborn and has been a supporter of the center for many years. She is happy to be able to help with the mission HTLC.
Bob Caturia - Board Member
Bob is a lifelong resident of Hastings. He graduated from St. Boniface Grade School in 1954 and graduated as the class president of Hastings High School class of 1958. Following graduation he attended St. Thomas College and graduated from the U of M Department of Mortuary Science in 1962. Upon receiving this degree he joined his father at The Caturia Funeral Home and took over ownership in 1969. Bob was president of MN Funeral Directors in 1981. He and his wife Gayle have five daughters and ten grandchildren. They are active members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
Lana Adams-Herr - Board Member
Lana, her husband Galen and daughter Maggie moved to Hastings from Cedar Falls, Iowa in 2015. Lana has a B.A. in Public Relations from Iowa State University, but has spent the majority of her career in human service work. She has enjoyed work as a Family Support Worker at an elementary school and as a school advocate for women and children in a domestic violence shelter. She also worked as an adoption/foster care social worker. Lana has enjoyed volunteering with 4-H, Habitat for Humanity, Grace Hospice, Resurrection United Methodist Church and TLC of Hastings. In Iowa, Lana was recognized with the Mayor's Volunteer Award. She feels blessed by her involvement in TLC.
Father TJ - Spiritual Director
Fr. T.J. McKenzie has been the parochial vicar at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church since 2015. He has been involved in all aspects of the life of the parish. Prior to his time at SEAS, he was studying for the priesthood at the Saint Paul Seminary. While in the seminary, he volunteered with the Missionaries of Charity and Sharing and Caring Hands in Minneapolis. One of his favorite memories of serving others is the time he spent in Venezuela. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and travelling. He likes to go golfing, play tennis, and watch MN sports, especially the Minnesota Wild.
Former Board Members Who Have Fulfilled Their Term
Scott Weber - Board Member
Scott is a lifelong resident of Hastings and enjoys country living with his wife and three daughters. He manages a software development company and serves as Chairmen of the Trustee board and on the Elder Board for Christ’s Family Church. In his spare time he enjoys flying, restoring cars, woodworking, photography, biking and tennis with his family and friends. Supporting TLC of Hastings is an honor. The service they provide to our community through the education, mentoring and Godly console to woman in crisis is a wonderful and anointed mission.
Josiah Engblom - Board Member
Josiah joined the TLC Hastings Board in June 2014. He is a graduate of Stillwater High School and has a geology degree from Wheaton College and Masters degree in hydrogeology from Colorado State University. He has spent several years working overseas, beginning with a year serving as a carpenter with the Mercy Ships Anastasis in Guinea, West Africa, followed by 5 months in Mozambique with WaterAid on a water and sanitation assignment, and most recently in Nicaragua with Nuevas Esperanzas working on water projects. Josiah remains involved with as a member of the Nuevas Esperanzas Board of Directors. Josiah moved to Hastings in 2009 from Denver, Colorado, with his wife, Dr. Bethany Engblom, who serves as the Medical Director for TLC Hastings. Having attended a Boot Camp for New Dads in Denver prior to his first child, Josiah imported the program to Regina Hospital in 2011 and has served as a Boot Camp coach for many of the TLC Hastings clients. He has 4 rambunctious little kids and feeds off their overflowing energy. If he could be anywhere, it would be 2-feet deep in powder on his tele-skis, but will often settle for rock climbing, biking, sailing, playing soccer, or even running (which is decidedly his least favorite).
Robin Ricard - Board Member
Robin serves the Hastings community through counseling individuals, couples and families in her private practice.
It’s a privilege for me to serve on the board of Hastings TLC. It’s a wonderful way to support TLC’s endeavor to strengthen families by loving on babies and their parents.
Todd Petit - Board Member
Todd and his family are active in the life of their local parish and school, St John the Baptist in Vermillion. Originally from Maine, Todd met his wife Angie, a Hastings native, while attending the University of Notre Dame. Todd and Angie have been blessed with 6 children, between the ages of 4 and 17. Todd is passionate about the sanctity of life and is proud that his oldest son, Connor, is also very active in various groups that support life at his high school. Todd works as an actuary at an insurance company in Minneapolis. In his spare time, he enjoys distance running, adventure races, and playing cards.
Mary Regan - Board Member
Mary has been married to her husband Pat for 35 years, they live in Hastings and are members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Mary and Pat have four married children and have been blessed with four grand-children - so far - with one on the way! Grandma Mary "Mimi" spends as much time with them as possible.
Mary also teaches group fitness classes at the YMCA in Hastings, and loves to bike, walk and garden. Mary is passionate about ProLife initiatives and the mentoring mission of Hastings TLC.
Alyssa Biscoe - Board Member
Alyssa is a Hastings native with a kind spirit and the biggest heart. She is a senior this year at Bethel University in Saint Paul, studying Elementary Education. Through her various experiences with young individuals, driven by her passion for children, Alyssa sees and believes in the innocence and joy of children, from all backgrounds and cultures. She works part time at Schoolhouse Scoop in Hastings and in other various childcare positions. In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys running, baking and spending time with her younger siblings.
Jill Kisby - Secretary
Jill has been an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Hastings for over 25 years. She has worked with youth, been a eucharistic minister and taught for most of those years. Her husband, David, owns Special Tees and is involved with Men of St. Joseph. Her daughters, Rachel and Linnea, are both active in their parish and Rachel is employed by TLC of Hastings.
Wes Lund- Vice President
Wes received his M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Bethel University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Before entering into work as a counselor, Wes worked for over thirty years in the telecommunications business in a variety of support and training roles. Wes has been married to his wife, Jean, for over 41 years. Together they have two adult daughters and four grandsons. As adoptive parents, they have been strong supporters of life from conception to death. They see the Total Lifecare Center of Hastings as a wonderful resource to the community and desire to see it's service broadly known and used by those facing critical decisions around a pregnancy.
