According to the Minnesota Department of Health

March 9th 2015

in 2013 the rate of syphilis went up by 64 percent and the rate of gonorrhea went up 26 percent.

Chlamydia is the number 1 reported infectious disease in Minnesota and it reached a new high of 18,724 cases in 2013. 68% of these cases were in young people ages 15 to 24.

The second most common STD in Minnesota with 3,872 cases reported in 2013, with an increase of 26 percent is gonorrhea. Adolescents and young adults (15 to 24 years old) account for 58% of those cases.

It's time to educate our youth on this information so they know what's at stake when making important lifestyle decisions.

At TLC we're here to help young people get the facts and hopefully make decisions for healthy futures. That is good for everyone! Prevention is important, if we succeed in that arena, we will see less crisis in the long run. We're so glad to be in this community serving our youth.
